Communities Putting Prevention to Work: Nutrition
The Communities Putting Prevention to Work (CPPW) nutrition initiative promotes continued efforts to change policies, systems and environments to improve nutritional aspects of worksites across the state of Ohio.
Our nutrition initiatives focus on worksite wellness in two areas:
Lactation Support – The Affordable Care Act requires all employers provide their hourly breastfeeding employees with reasonable time and space to pump during the work day. ODH encourages all worksite to support their employees that choose to breastfeed their babies.
Healthy Food – Increased access to healthy foods in the workplace provides the opportunities for both employees and visitors to choose nutritious snacks, beverages and meals. An additional opportunity to provide healthy food items is during any company sponsored events or meetings.
The CPPW program focuses on passing comprehensive policies by providing model policies, tool kits, technical support, training and networking opportunities.
